Can you smell a change in the weather? And do seasons smell different in different regions?
Rotting material acrid
Rotting hay..something rotting
Damp leaves and cool breeze
leaves and smoke
Cool, fresh air
Leaves and nutmeg
... Leaf mold. The warm, dry leaves have become chill and damp. Then the leaves dry and warm again in the evening sun. They bake and dampen and decay. The smell is enviting and earthy. I love to ride my bicycle through the Greenways during this time. The mixture between crisp and warm and the earthy smell makes me feel good when it seems that nothing else can.
