Tuesday, April 02, 2013 - 12:00 PM

With early voting officially open, it's impossible to go anywhere without seeing common ancestor campaign ads. The latest by Super PAC Non-Shrews for Schrëwdinger was released today. Expect more: the group has already raised 66 million dollars and plans on spending it before the campaign ends at noon on Thursday, 4 April.

It's hard to know what to do with that thing over the "e". It can't be an umlaut, since an umlaut suggests changing the sound of a vowel other than "e". This used to be written by putting an little "e" above the other vowel, but it doesn't work on an "e".

And it can't be a diaeresis, since that suggests a separation of two vowel sounds, as in "cöoperate"="co-operate".

So, what the hey?
