And Now For Something Completely Different

Saturday, August 03, 2013 - 04:44 AM

I don't know what this is, or what it cost this guy to do what he does to his knees, or to the top of his skull. I don't know what I'm listening to; I only know that what happens in this video is beautiful. And different. And worth sharing, especially the ropey thing at the end. So, since it's the weekend, and it's just us, (and though this isn't remotely about science), take a look...

I'm told that this video is a response to an earlier video of what sounds like the same song, (which you can see here), but there's no comparison. Our guy wins. He's got heart.

Started out listening to that video way too loud. I jumped about three feet when he looks up at'cha. I jumped so far, in fact, that I fell off my bed, cracked a rib, and now I'm suing NPR! I win either way!

HAHAH-ow! it hurts to laugh still.

Uh oh, here we go down the YouTube-Rabbit Hole:

Apparently this guy dressed up like a character from the show to dance, pose and prank people during an anime¿? convention. It's surprisingly entertaining.

The music is the opening theme for the Japanese Animated show "Shingeki no Kyojin" ("Attack on Titan"), and the dance... the dance is... well, an interpretive presentation of some of the themes... yeah, I dunno, it's just some Japanese guy going wild to the theme song. (^_^)

If you haven't seen the show yet, you should check it out, as it's one of the more compelling, genre re-defining shows out there right now. You can watch it for free on Crunchyroll.com:

Enjoy!
